Minor bug fixes + Community Feedback


Hello everyone! The 'Dark Universe' Harold Jam ended this week so we're able to make some quick post-jam bug fixes:

Audio fixes:

  • Added menu sounds for selecting text options [OK], exiting  menus [Cancel] and scrolling through text options/credits [Cursor]
  • Adjusted the volume and pitch of the Title Screen BGM and Level 2 BGM

Text fixes:

  •  Added "Obtained [item]! text for all three Items can Harold find in the demo. Otherwise it wasn't clear whether he picked up the item without having to check the menu first. Also the 'Broken Horn' is easy for players to miss on their first playthrough.

Gameplay fixes:

  • Fixed a collision bug that was affecting the wall tiles in Level 2 (Freezer Aisle)
  • Fixed an event dialog in the last corridor before the end of Level 1 (Facility Ruins) so it won't repeat every time the player passes over it.

Please feel free to let us know if you encounter any more bugs or glitches. We plan to remake 'Hammer Harold: Dead End Dig' in RPG Maker MZ using feedback from players on how to improve the finished version. And we're still collecting feedback even after the jam so let us know in the comments what features you would like to see added (or cut) from the finished version + any additional ideas and suggestions.
